The Vision!

The motto of the Ark is "serving the youth of Ayrshire".

The Mission Statement of The Ark is:

To be a centre of excellence in youth work committed to making a positive contribution in the lives of young people in Ayrshire regardless of their sex, race, creed, physical or mental ability; ensuring an integrated response to the needs of the community in order to best serve young people, promote self-worth and develop and train young volunteers to be positive role models.

The vision for The Ark was conceived when an interdenominational group of local churches in Ayr saw the evident need for quality youth recreational facilities, and started working behind the scenes to make what you see today possible.

At present we are open every Friday and Saturday night hosting local DJs and live bands, and also every Wednesday afternoon as a cafe bar, and also a drop-in centre. The vision for The Ark is that it will eventually be open throughout most of the week, facilitating a wide range of activities for young people, with organised entertainment events every weekend. As our staff team increases we trust that this vision will become a reality.
