Restrictions are easing so we took the opportunity to host a fun Games Session outdoors. We welcomed 11 young people who took part in a variety of engaging activities. Stewart Bell from Youth Scotland presented a range of games such as balloon pop, handball, blaze pod competition and rounders. The young people also tucked into a lunch pack which we provided, this included a hot dog, crisps, banana, apple, Kit Kat, Whispa and fruit juice.
The session went down a treat with the young people with one saying “We have nothing to do in the holidays and usually just hang about the beach so this been the best day so far”. The young people rated the session 5/5 and they all stated that they would definitely join an Ark activity in the future. A favourite activity was the Blaze Pod Competition where the young people took to the battlefield of blaze pod lights. The aim of the game was to choose one colour and then amongst the multi-coloured flashing lights try to hit as many of their colour as they could. There was lots of fun, laughter and healthy competitiveness.
We look forward to hosting more youth activities in the near future. A big thank you to Stewart from Youth Scotland who did an amazing job running our games.
